Sielmat Christian School, established in 1959, is one of the premier Christian Schools in Manipur. It is run by the Partnership Mission Society, a registered trust of non-profit status. The School is affiliated to the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (upto Class X) and to the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (Class XI & XII)

High Aims

Sielmat Christian School seeks to equip all its students with comprehensive knowledge and quality education that is competently imparted in the security of a healthy academic environment. Sielmat Christian School, thus, aims to groom young people in such a manner that they will eventually assume mature leadership roles in every sphere of life.

Academic excellence

The consistent results in the High School Leaving Certificate and the Higher Secondary Examinations speak volumes of the high standard of education imparted in the School. By God's grace, the School has achieved the first overall position in Churachandpur district numerous times. A good example of the School's superiority is displayed by the fact that an overwhelming majority of the students secure first division in these examinations each year. The School has also brought laurels to the region by successfully producing various top ten position holders in the state in both the Science and the Arts streams.

The School has been able to maintain its exceptional standards of excellence due to various reasons, chief among these being a deeply committed and highly qualified staff, excellent infrastructure, well organised and efficient monitoring of the students' academic progress, a strong desire of the staff to serve with true care for each child's welfare and a policy of seeing each and every student as a unique and wonderful creation of the Almighty.

Extensive Campus

Sielmat Christian Hr. Secondary School has been blessed with one of the largest campuses among the private educational institutions in Manipur. Within the fully enclosed campus, there are vast areas of greenery and ample space for sports and recreational pursuits. The School campus also harbours the well known and capacious Rev. Chawnga Memorial Chapel wherein more than a thousand students can be accommodated at a time during School devotional programmes.

Library

The School has a computerised library which houses more than 11,000 books. The latest educational and competitive magazines, journals and daily national newspapers are also made available in the library. Special care is taken by the helpful librarian to maintain a suitable ambience and conducive environment to cater to the reading and studying requirements of the students, with borrowing facilities as well as various reading tables being provided within the library.

Hostel

The School hostel is located at a nearby distance to the main campus, about 10 minutes walk from the School. The hostel enjoys an excellent reputation, with three teachers of the School supervising the boarders. There are a limited number of 80 seats in the hostel for deserving candidates.

First-class Infrastructure:

All classes are conducted in modern, comfortable and spacious clasrooms. For the subjects having practicals, the School is fully equipped with up-to-date laboratories wherein proper focus is given to the practical portions of these subjects. A state-of-the-art projector provides valuable multi- media content to aid in the students’ understanding and acquisition of knowledge. The School is also well equipped with two generators to provide backup power for any electricity needs.

Assessment of Students

The School undertakes a comprehensive and continuous internal assessment of the students through regular examinations and assignments. The marks secured therein along with the attendance maintained and the overall conduct and behaviour of each of the students are considered before sending up any student to the next level. The School’s decision in these matters is final and binding.

Socio-economic concerns

A certain number of needy but meritorious students who have secured 85 % and above in the latest HSLC examinations will be provided free education. There are also provisions for those securing 80 % and above.

Even after the completion of their course of study here, the School has cash awards and scholarships for further education for meritorious students on passing their Higher Secondary Examinations, provided they fulfil certain conditions.
